Elastomer Gaskets

These gaskets are especially suited for use in power-transmitting connections – as cylinder-head gaskets, water pump gaskets or oil pan gaskets, for example. Elastomer is vulcanized directly onto an aluminum or steel carrier on this type of gasket. The height of the elastomer, tailored to the thickness of the carrier, is considerably lower that that on pure elastomer gaskets. This sealing system provides excellent functional reliability and economy, and it is also possible to integrate supplemental functions in the carrier, thus significantly increasing the design freedom for the developers of engines.
