Ferroflex®/Ferrolastic® - metal/soft-material cylinder head gaskets

Metal/soft-material cylinder head gaskets from ElingKlinger consist of a serrated supporting plate with a soft-material layer added to both sides. The combustion chamber passage is fitted with a metal eyelet in order to increase the compression inside the combustion chamber and to protect the soft material from the hot combustion gases.

When necessary, a linear elastomer coating is used for the liquid seal. The compression is thus increased locally and the sealing face is optimally adapted to the surface roughness. Elastomer elements are used in motors subject to high dynamic stresses, especially in the oil pressure area. Coatings which are applied over the full surface prevent sticking and ensure micro-sealing.
