ElringKlinger do Brasil Ltda: Newly-built, state-of-the-art factory commissioned.

August 12: 2-for-1 share split. The number of shares on issue now amounts to 19.2 million.

2004

125 year company anniversary.

ElringKlinger incorporates in conjunction with its longstanding affiliate Marusan Corporation a joint development and sales company to service the Japanese market: ElringKlinger Marusan Corporation, Tokyo.

July 26: Doubling of capital stock out of company resources to €57,6 million. There are now 9.6 million issued shares.

2003

Renaming of chinese subsidiary Changchun Elring Gaskets Co. Ltd to Changchun ElringKlinger Ltd.

ElringKlinger AG has been included in the SDAX on November 13.

2002

ElringKlinger AG has been traded as registered share in Frankfurt and Stuttgart since January 21. New security identification number 785 602.

Grouping of logistics processes for the aftermarket in ElringKlinger Logistic Service GmbH, Rottenburg am Neckar, newly founded on October 31, 2002.

Our minority shareholding in our existing joint venture with Chinese partners, Changchun Elring Gaskets Co. Ltd., has been increased to a majority 78%.

2001

New name: The subsidiary Elring Kunststoff-Technik GmbH is renamed ElringKlinger Kunststofftechnik GmbH.

The production of cylinder-head gaskets in North America gets off to a good start.

Another subsidiary is founded in Reus (Tarragona), Spain, especially for the production of the engine cover modules: ElringKlinger Sealing Systems, SL

In November, ElringKlinger Kunststofftechnik GmbH, Bietigheim, and Venus GmbH, Heidenheim, merge retroactively effective January 1, 2001. As a subsidiary of ElringKlinger AG, they now do business under the mutual name ElringKlinger Kunststofftechnik GmbH at their respective locations.

2000

ElringKlinger AG is called to life on October 30: Elring Klinger GmbH merges with the parent company ZWL Grundbesitz- und Beteiligungs-AG and is renamed ElringKlinger AG.

Purchase of the gasket manufacturer Versatech Sealing Systems, Inc., Leamington/Ontario, Canada, now ElringKlinger Sealing Systems, Inc.

1999

Series production of the first plastic cam cover modules is started.

1997

Elastomer Technology / Modules business unit is set up.

Operations are started at the plant in Livonia (near Detroit, Michigan), USA, for shielding technology and gaskets: ElringKlinger of North America Inc., now ElringKlinger Sealing Systems USA, Inc.

A new plant is built and put into operation in Toluca, Mexico, (ElringKlinger Mexico S.A. de C.V.)

Founding of ElringKlinger Motortechnik GmbH, Idstein.

Founding of ElringKlinger S.p.A, Mazzo di Rho (near Milan), Italy.

A new plant is built and put into operation in Redcar, ElringKlinger (Great Britain) Ltd, Great Britain.

Establishment of Elring Kunststoff-Technik GmbH, Bietigheim, previously the plastics technology business unit, now ElringKlinger Kunststofftechnik GmbH.

Elring GmbH merges with the Automotive Division of Richard Klinger GmbH to form Elring Klinger GmbH.

The joint venture company Changchun Elring Gaskets Co. Ltd. is formed in China.

The Thermal and Acoustic Shielding Parts business unit is set up.

The joint venture company Jeil Elring Co. Ltd. is established in Changwon, South Korea.

Klinger Automotive Ltd. is founded in Skelton, GB, now ElringKlinger (Great Britain) Ltd.

Klinger focuses its business activities on the international automotive business.

Elring established the joint venture Elring Gaskets (PTY) Ltd. in Johannesburg, RSA.

The production and sales of Lechler gaskets are unified in Elring Dichtungswerke KG.

Elring production and development moves from Stuttgart/Bad Cannstatt to Dettingen/Erms.

The first Klinger cylinder-head gaskets are produced.

The first Lechler cylinder-head gaskets are produced.

Lechler starts manufacturing gaskets in Stuttgart.

At the turn of the century, Lechler OHG sells the first gaskets to the automotive industry.

Richard Klinger establishes a drafting office in Vienna.
